I got to go to England!!! It was very exciting to be able to go, even though I had to travel in 'Mom's' purple knapsack. It was a bit cramped, and the airplane ride was really long. I didn't think we were EVER going to get there. Oh, you know what? On the way there, 'Dad' looked into his knapsack and guess what he found? BillyBob! BillyBob was a 'stowaway' – no one knew he was coming. He was supposed to stay home and watch the cows ... but he decided it would be more fun to come along. I was glad that he did, it was nice to share this adventure. We got to ride on trains, subways, buses, taxis and boats and airplanes - whew! That's a lot of traveling!
You will notice that I am not in some of these photos. The photos were so nice, I thought that I would share some of what I saw with you, too. It was a really wonderful trip, we had so much fun. I would love to go back again.

This is BillyBob and me sitting in the window of "Auntie Susan's' flat. We liked it there, and we really liked watching the people in the street.
'Auntie Susan' took us for a ride to get lunch at an old fashioned pub called the Wheat Sheaf. It was very old fashioned - it even had a straw roof! It was really cute.
This is 'Dad' inside a British phone booth. Doesn't he look funny? I was just glad he didn't get stuck in there. |

We were really tired after all of our traveling, so BillyBob and I made ourselves comfortable on 'Auntie Susan's' nice couch. She didn't seem to mind too much. And it sure felt good to stretch out after that long, cramped flight. We got to watch some TV, too ... did you know that England has a 'Dancing with the Stars' program, too? It was fun to watch. |
We went to London! And this is the subway! They call it the 'Tube'. It was interesting to ride on it, it is very fast. And you have to watch where you step so you don't fall off the platform.
This is Trafalgar Square in London. There is a nice fountain, an art gallery and a column with a guy on top.
Do you see me in 'Mom's knapsack? We were waiting for 'Auntie Susan' to figure out where we were and how to get where we were supposed to go. She doesn't like maps.
We got to ride on a London bus - with no roof on it! Actually, it was a two-story bus, we sat on top. It was very breezy. And cold. These are some of the things I saw...
More scenery from the bus. I've never seen a stripey building before!
Look! That's me with the Queen's Horse Guard! Would you believe that the horses are not allowed to talk? Oh, the rider, too - he was trying really hard not to laugh at me. They have to stand in one spot all day, it must get very tiring.
Me with the Horse Guard again. No, I'm not in a jogging suit - that's 'Mom's' knapsack! It was pretty cold, so I was actually very glad to be tucked in.
There must have been a lot of important horses in England's history because there are statues of them all over. Only important horses have statues made of them!
Oh, look, this is the London Eye! It's like a really, really big ferris wheel. We didn't have time to go on it - maybe next time!
This is me in front of Westminster Abbey. What a beautiful church - I have never seen anything like it! We couldn't go in - they don't allow horses in the church!
Me and 'Mom' outside Westminster Abbey again. The grass was really green for November!
Another view of Westminster Abbey.
This is the famous clock Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament (that's where the British government goes to work). It is a really beautiful building. We couldn't go inside that one, either.
This is BillyBob catching some wind on the top of the bus. We had a good view of everything in London.
Me and BillyBob on the bus.
Hi Mom! (It was very windy!)
More of London from the bus. Aren't the buildings pretty?
The sun was beginning to set and the skyline along the River Thames was really pretty. See the statue of the horses?
I even got to see a dragon!
This was neat - this is Tower Bridge. It is right near the Tower of London where, in history, many famous people were killed. This is what it looked like as we were crossing the bridge.
I almost got in this photo - you can see my ear and my mane! This is the River Thames at sunset.
This is St. Paul's Cathedral. It was beautiful, too. We couldn't go in because they don't let horses in church. Oh well.
This is me outside the Tower of London.
Look at this! BillyBob and I got our picture taken with a Beefeater! I don't know why they are called that, but they wear these funny outfits. This fellow was really nice and agreed to let us have our picture taken with him.
This is the Tower of London. It's not really a 'tower' but there is a tower inside the walls. Many famous people were killed here in years past. The Queen's jewels are kept here, too.
Guess what this is? This is the gate to Buckingham Palace where the Queen of England lives! I did knock, but she wasn't taking visitors. What a shame, I would have liked to have met her.
This is one of the guards outside the palace. I really like his hat, it reminds me of my mane!
Me and BillyBob at Buckingham Palace! WOW!
This is another bus ride - it was a wild one, too. BillyBob nearly got sick on the twisty, hilly roads. Guess where we went? Stonehenge!
This is Stonehenge. It is very, very old. Much older than 'Mom'! Very old, very big rocks in a field in the middle of nowhere. It was neat to see in person - I've heard a lot about it. No one knows who built them, how they built them or why. It is amazing to see. And it was cold there, too.
This is me at Stonehenge! The tour guide said that I could visit, but that I had to stay off of the grass. That's why I'm sitting on 'Dad's knapsack.
Can you bellieve it? Some of my fans all the way from Asia! I was thrilled that they let me take a picture with them. They were SO nice to me, we had fun chatting.
We went to the beach one day. The sunset was beautiful. We didn't go swimming, though, it was MUCH too cold for that. Instead, we saw some statues called the Iron Men ...
These are the Iron Men. They stand on the beach. They must be very cold because they have no clothes on. The sunset was beautiful, though.
I got to ride a boat! Well, it was a ferry, called the Mersey Ferry. It is very historic. We crossed the Mersey river to reach Liverpool on the other side. We spent a day walking around Liverpool. There are some very pretty buildings there. And a lot of history. I learned a lot.
This is one of the landmark buildings in Liverpool.
I was very excited about this - I got to see a castle! A real castle! This is Skipton Castle and it was just beautiful! All I needed was a knight in shining armor and I could have done a joust!
This is the church by the castle. Isn't the grass green?
BillyBob was so excited - he got to help 'Auntie Susan' by holding her 'sat nav' (satellite navigation). She hates maps, but we needed directions when we drove through beautiful Yorkshire. This was the best solution, and BillyBob really enjoyed the opportunity to help out!
This is some of the scenery we saw in Yorkshire. It was beautiful fall weather with pretty trees. The towns were really cute with stone buildings and everything! And lots of tiny, twisty, hilly roads.
This is me sitting on a stone fence in Yorkshire. You can see the heights behind me.
One day 'Mom' and 'Dad' and their friends went to Wales. We decided to stay home and play with 'Auntie Alison's' friend Ethel.
One day we went to the park. BillyBob decided to stay home and see if he could spot any cows on the street. He didn't.
In the park there was a beautiful place where they grow tropical plants, called the Palm House. Around the outside are all these statues of famous people - I thought it was funny that this one noticed me! It was cold that day, so I borrowed a scarf to keep me warm.
Our last stop was this Tudor estate called Speke House. It was very unusual. That's me in the bush!
This is what Speke House looks like. So, what do you think of my trip? I had a lot of fun and slept for nearly a week when we got home! I'm so glad I was able to go. Where shall I go next?
Before we left we took a picture of all my new friends in England. They were so nice to me and BillyBob. I hated to leave them, but maybe I'll get to visit again someday.
