Our Mascot "Chocolate"

Adventures with Chocolate

One day, I went with my family to a horse show. 'Mom' was riding my cousin in a Dressage show. I've never been to a horse show before, so this was a new experience. We had to get up very early in the morning. There were so many beautiful horses there ... and they are so much bigger than I am! I even made a few new friends during the day. I think I am going to try to learn how so maybe I can compete, too. It looks like a lot of fun, but I know it is a lot of work. My cousin tells me he spends hours each week practicing and working with 'Mom' to try to help her get it right. He says that she's coming along but is a bit of a slow learner sometimes.

My arrival at the showgrounds. Amazingly, my fans knew I was coming and were waiting for me. They even put a carpet in the trailer so I'd be comfortable.

This was my stall at the show. I felt kind of lost in it, though, as it was a bit big for me.

That's me looking out from my stall. My cousin was in the next stall.

I came out to catch some sun and got a special treat – I was allowed to hold the carrots! And I didn't even eat any!

My cousin and I finally had some time to chat. He's usually so busy that we don't get a chance to talk. A little face time was good for a change.

I got tired of just sitting around, so I offered to help park the cars and trailers.

Watching the show. It was a beautiful day.

All that sun wears you out. I was glad for the chance to sit in the shade and relax. All I was missing was a mint julep.

The prizes! I didn't win any this time, but I'm sure that with practice I can manage a blue ribbon!

Here I am sharing a drink with my new friend. She was so nice to me and so much fun. I hope I get to see her again.

Leaf Me Alone! This silly branch kept getting in my way so I couldn't see what was going on. It was such a nice spot, though, I really didn't want to move.

Check it out! They let me drive the tractor!

I was going to try to drive home, but my legs are too short and I couldn't
reach the pedals. So instead I took a nice nap on the way home.
It was a good day.
